For our 5th edition Synopsis are pleased to welcome yet another illustrious Parisian artist, namely Vadim Svoboda, who will not only play in London for the very first time, but is bringing with him his much-talked about live set. Joining him is Canadian frontrunner Mike Shannon, and a familiar face to the London scene in the shape of our good friend, Hamid who will also be celebrating his birthday this day. In the wake of a string of prominent French artists maintaining both underground sensibility and credibility – names like Masomenos, Dan Ghenacia, Cabanne, and Seuil – there is a new generation French housers brewing, and one of the most exciting is Vadim Svoboda.
Playing the piano from a young age, where Romantic composers would later influence his own foray into music production, Vadim Svoboda moved to New York where he got into drum machines and early on built himself a fully analogue live.
With releases on Cabin Fever, Welcome To Masomenos, and a forthcoming EP on Seuil’s credible Eklo label, Vadim is also the mind behind the young makesense records – injected with Vadim’s sharp A&R skills, sourcing out unheard-of grooves and elements and a love of hardware.
Having recently blown the roof of both Panorama Bar and Club der Visionaere, billed alongside the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Zip, Daniel Bell and Baby Ford, this will serve as an indication of what to expect of this musical personality.Mike Shannon (Cynosure / Wagon Repair)
Berlin based Canadian artist Mike Shannon has been educating dance floors across the globe for over 15 years with his deep record crates, and sharp taste-making skills, as the man behind the Cynosure label, and releases on Plus 8, Wagon Repair and CityFox. Equally as comfortable with deeper beats as with relentless techno sessions, on April 27 he is getting ready to educate Basing House.Hamid (Get Physical)
The French born DJ and producer Hamid has resided in the creative nucleus of London since early 2006. Here he has spent the time quietly, but steadily, climbing the ranks of electronic music, putting out records on imprints including Get Physical, murmur, Souvernir Music and latest Kindisch with ‘Revolution Bay’ EP of last year. An integrated cogin the wheel of East London success story , Hamid can also be seen spinning at places like Space in Ibiza and Chalet in Berlin, alongside names like Move D or Craig Richards
